I was very curious about how our gorgeous little cardboard tins were made, so I invited myself to vist Jaap, from Green Energy Pack at his factory. (The morning of my visit, I parked behind a car with a huge, not unrealistic, toy tiger looking out of the back window. Another car had a notice on the back window that snakes were in transit within. But I digress.)
Jaap very kindly took me into the factory and explained the whole process to me.
The first step in making our containers is a big long toilet roll. Then the labels are pasted onto this.
Thereafter, the tube is put onto a machine that cuts it into sections.
The third step is ‘bullnosing’. That is where the cardboard is neatly overturned to make an edge.
Then the inners and lids are added to finish the containers off. So cool!
