Is there a natural dog dewormer?

Ok, here are the facts. You have to deworm your pets every few months. Otherwise they could get really sick. And they could even make you and your family sick.

Here is the problem. Your pet can develop resistance to specific dewormers. This is  resulting in pharmaceutical dewormers becoming less and less effective. Sounds like a rock and a hard place.

This is the point at which I started to look backwards in history. What did people use in ancient times? Where these things effective? And, if so, would reviving the older, more natural remedies help the growing resistance problem?

I think the answer is yes. Anything that is so radically different to the chemical dewormers has to decrease resistance.

The challenge then became twofold:
1. to find herbs that are genuinely effective and have been scientifically proven to work
2. these same herbs must be safe in the recommended doses

My final formulation (Cleansing Formula) contains pumpkin seeds (Cucurbita pepo), cloves (Syzygium aromaticum) and wormwood (Artemisia absynthium) – these herbs kill the parasites. Then I have added garlic as an immune booster and dandelion as a gentle laxative to get rid of the dead parasites. And probiotics to settle the stomach, as some of these herbs are quite potent.

The result is Cleansing Formula, tested by a vet in France to be effective against several internal parasites. But completely, 100% natural.

I love my job.

  1. This Cleansing Formula sounds just like what the doctor ordered! We’re going to try and get it at Durbell in Bellville this week. Is it safe for cats too?

    Thank you so much Beryl!

  2. That is great news!! i have a lot of dogs and need to deworm often, then after that expence of dewormer pills…. ..i then need to give them protexin or yoghurt ………so if i could give them a dose of a natural herbal formula …i feel it will do less harm to my dogs stomach….and keep them worm free everyday!! :o))

    1. Perfect plan Jenni
With the Aussies having a sensitivity to dewormers the herbal product is perfect as an alternative!!

I am very excited about this product.
